JULY 22, 2024 — On Sunday, July 21, President Joseph R. Biden, a true American patriot and hero, graciously passed the baton to a new generation of Democratic leadership in the United States of America. As former President Barack Obama emphasizes, we are deeply indebted to President Biden for resurrecting the values of compassion and hard work, of steadfastly supporting the rule of law and integrity in the political process, and for reminding us that America is a land which “insists that everyone, no matter who they are, has a voice and deserves a chance at a better life.”

From the very first day he took office, in January 2021, President Biden has enacted an impressive list of accomplishments that directly help all Americans.² These include a record 15.7 million new jobs created; bringing the country back to normalcy after facing COVID-19; reducing prescription drug costs; enacting the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 as well as deficit reduction measures; investing in America’s infrastructure; rejoining the Paris Treaty and investing in renewable power, which is now the #2 source of electricity in the U.S.!; passing a landmark gun safety law, helping small farmers and pushing for the right of working folk to organize for better wages and benefits. In 2022, $52 billion were invested towards the CHIPS and Science Act, bringing semiconductor manufacturing back to the U.S. Moreover, the Biden/Harris White House has revived America’s image on the global stage, strengthened NATO and championed Ukraine against Russian aggression in the ongoing conflict in Europe.

As we continue to face serious challenges to our democracy, we call for unity and inclusion of everyone. Let us work together so we can continue the impressive economic gains we’ve enjoyed under the Biden/Harris administration, shore up reproductive rights, focus on a sustainable/green agenda and tackle the ongoing epidemic of gun violence.
