At Least 13 Hospitals and Health Facilities Hit During Attacks on Iran, WHO Says: The World Health Organization (WHO) said it was checking reports that four medics had been killed and 25 others injured. At least 1,230 people have been killed in Iran, more than 100 in Lebanon and 13 in Israel since the war began, according to official statements. Thousands more have been injured across the region. Americans Stuck in the Middle East Recount Finding Their Way Home with Little Government Help: Many US citizens found themselves stranded in the Middle East and beyond after Israeli-U.S. attacks on Iran almost a week ago rapidly entangled more than a dozen nearby countries. Since then, travelers have described frustrations and growing fear as they encountered closed airports, canceled flights and confusing U.S. government guidance while Poland, Australia, France and other countries moved quickly to dispatch military or chartered planes for their citizens. Trump Fires Homeland Security Secretary Noem After Mounting Criticism Over Her Leadership: President Donald Trump on Thursday fired his embattled Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, after mounting criticism over her leadership of the department, including the handling of the administration’s immigration crackdown and disaster response. He said he was making her a “Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas,” a new security initiative that, he said, would focus on the Western Hemisphere. AP

Trump Administration Drops Effort Against Law Firms After Judges Find President's Orders Unconstitutional: The Justice Department on Monday dropped the fight over President Donald Trump's executive orders targeting firms he disliked, conceding to unanimous rulings from federal judges that found the orders violated the fundamental tenets of the Constitution. The targeted firms included Perkins Coie, WilmerHale, Susman Godfrey and Jenner & Block. They had fought back against executive orders by Trump that took aim at their security clearances, government contracts and access to government buildings due to their clientele and hiring (Moral of the story: Always fight back). The quarantine of the facility follows multiple confirmed cases of measles and at least two cases of tuberculosis at the sprawling U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center in El Paso.
